<abstract xml:lang="en">

The activity of antioxidant enzymes of some types of ornamental herbaceous plants has been studied under conditions of controlled soil contamination with cadmium and lead ions in order to identify plant resistance to polymetallic stress. Increased activity of catalase, peroxidase, and polyphenol oxidase was detected in seedlings of Ageratum houstonianum cv. Bule Lagoon and Agrostemma githago L. both when pollutants were applied separately and when they were applied together to the growing medium.
